The ‘Sports’ channel and ‘Pouya’ animation channel were officially launched in a ceremony attended by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, IRIB Head Ezzatollah Zarghami and a number of artists and athletes.

The ‘Sports’ channel, aimed to support the coverage of sports competitions, was launched with a quote by the founder of Islamic Revolution Imam Khomeini who said, “I am not an athlete, but I like sportsmen.”

“The new channels are presented to Iranian youth, young adults and children who will shape the future of the Islamic Republic,” Zarghami said.
